Bottom line tonight is this: with a Pirate win, the Cardinals are eliminated from the playoffs. I’m sure the fine folks in Cincinnati are hoping for a Cardinal win so they can celebrate a division title on their own, but man would it be sweet to officially knock the Cards out of the playoffs. Charlie Morton gets the chance to do it and to follow up on what was probably his best start of the season against the Cards earlier last week.
