Why is Alexandria Daddario the next big name in entertainment? The 28-year-old from New York City is on the verge of stardom, and very few people know who she is.
However, all that is about to change because Daddario is stepping out of the shadow and into the light, and people are surely going to take notice.
Daddario is mostly known for here role as Annabeth in the popular Percy Jackson film series. The series has spawned two films and has given Daddario a following amongst the young teen crowd.
She tried to spice up her image by appearing in the film Hall Pass, where she played a not so innocent teenager, and also appeared in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. While the actress was trying taking on different and edgier roles she needed something that set her apart, and luckily for her she found exactly that.
It was her role on the HBO series, True Detective were Daddarrio came of age. Playing the lover of Woody Harrelson’s character, Daddario bared all for the cameras and showed she could play a more serious and intimate role.
She spoke with MTV regarding the possibilities the scene opened up for her career.
“I think one thing about this role for me was that it was a huge challenge for me, and I saw it as a good challenge. I saw it as an interesting challenge,”
The next time we see Daddario she will be alongside Dwayne Johnson and Colton Haynes in the drama, San Andreas. The film, which is set to open May 25th, 2015, tells the story of a rescue chopper pilot and the aftermath of a devastating earthquake.
San Andreas might not be the only thing Daddario has coming in the pipeline. Recent rumors have her as a finalist for Marvel’s Netflix series, Jessica Jones, which is based on the popular comic book character.
Whether she is a half-god, a promiscuous teenager or a superhero, Alexandria Daddario is proving she can be a jack of all trades in Hollywood, and soon everyone will know her name.
