According to reports, Marvel has officially tabbed Krysten Ritter for the lead role in Marvel’s up-coming Netflix series, Jessica Jones. The actress won the role over the likes of Alice Eve and Alexandra Daddario.
It goes without saying that Ritter has a monumental task ahead of her. Ritter has had moderate success in Hollywood. Some of her more recognizable films include She’s Out Of My League and What Happens In Vegas. She also starred in the short-lived ABC series Don’t Trust The B In Apt. 23. Ritter has also shown a dramatic side to her acting appearing in 10 episodes of Breaking Bad as Jane.
However, is she the right person for Jessica Jones? The actress has never played the role of action-hero. Unlike her main competition Alice Eve (Star Trek) and the forementioned Daddario (Percy Jackson), Ritter has not gotten into the action genre, which has led many to question, if she can handle the role of Jessica Jones.
It’s obvious Marvel Studios saw something in Ritter that many others do not. So, can Ritter play Jessica Jones? I guess we just have to wait and see.
