Entertainment Roundup: Looking to Neverland

PARKER CROFT, COLIN O'DONOGHUEOnce Upon a Time ended its second season last week, and left A LOT to look forward to next year including a new story!

Tamara and Greg had their climax this episode. They’ve been troublemakers in Storybrook for a while, but it was interesting to learn that they are also working for Peter Pan. He’s got a wide reach. I was a little confused as to why they would need to blow up the town if their mission was Henry. I guess it was just to keep us wondering what they were up to.

Who would have ever thought that Peter Pan was going to be evil? He has a large army of Lost Boys who steal children for him. This leaves a lot of questions for next year. Is Peter only a shadow or does he just send his shadow to do his bidding? How was he looking for Henry before he was born? What’s Peter’s back story? What does he do with the children he steals? I would guess that he is using the children to increase his power. He needs Henry though because Henry’s powers and potential haven’t been revealed. I do secretly love how bad-ass the Lost Boys are.

Captain Hook redeems himself at the end of the season and leads our main crew on the search for Henry. The Jolly Roger sounds like a fun ride. I don’t think Captain Hook will stay ‘good’ for long. But, he doesn’t like Peter Pan either and fears him a bit. Could Pan be worse than the Dark One? I like that the whole crew and Regina are off on a quest together. I predict that Regina will be a good-guy for most of next season. Besides, we have a new evil character to watch.

Finally, I’m glad that Bae ended up with Mulan and Sleeping Beauty. I really liked Mulan and their group’s back story. They’ll take good care of him, but it will be a while until he’s reunited with Emma to be happily ever after.

Next year, we also get to introduce ourselves to the spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland. When I watched the trailer, I wasn’t excited about the asylum aspect of the show. I don’t want to watch a fairytale show that is based in an asylum. By the end of the trailer, I was hooked though. Alice goes back to Wonderland to find her love the Gene!
