Entertainment Roundup: Movies to Check Out!

I watched a couple of good movies recently. Even though they are very different from each other, you should definitely check out both of them!ea_stid_poster

Star Trek: Into Darkness
Star Trek was an exciting ride for new and old fans of the series. The plot was interesting and easy to follow along. Overall, I thought the movie drug the Khan storyline on a bit longer than necessary. The individual action sequences were quite suspenseful. I liked the nod back to the original of how Captain Kirk was trapped in with the Reactor Core, but the original Star Trek portrayed Spock in the same position. Into Darkness was a solid sequel to JJ Abrams’ first Star Trek movie.

On a different note, the documentary The Queen of Versailles follows the family of David Siegel through the transition from billionaire to broke. David Siegel owns Westgate, the largest timeshare company in the world. In their peak, David, his wife Jackie, and their 7 children were building the largest house in America (which they have recently restarted construction on). This documentary is equal parts hilarity and market crash reality. Some of my favorite parts include the 10 kitchens in the house they are building, the 4 shopping carts of toys Jackie buys when they are ‘broke’, and the grumpiness of the 78-year old business mogul. You’ll love it! Check out the trailer here.
