10. Matchup to watch: Houston RDE Mario Williams versus Indianapolis LT Charlie Johnson: Williams has been enjoying an excellent season thus far. But in the Monday night loss to Tennessee, Williams but was held in check. He had four tackles and no sacks. He’s one of the most effective defensive ends against the run and the pass. Johnson will be asked to protect Manning’s blind side against one of the more well-rounded pass-rushers in the league.
The Colts have won the past 2 weeks despite Peyton Manning throwing multiple INTs in both games. If Manning throws 2+ INTS this week the Texans are 55 percent favorites. If Manning throws no more than 1 INT the Colts are sizable 73 percent favorites. The key to forcing interceptions besides good coverage in the secondary is pass pressure. When the Texans sack Manning no more than once and he is allowed to pick apart the defense the Colts win by 8 points with Peyton averaging 300 yards and over 2 TD passes. Matt Schaub threw 2 INTs in the Texans loss at Indianapolis. If Schaub throws 2+ INTs this week the Texans only have a 16 percent chance.
