ESPN’s NBA Playoff Viewership up 19 PercentThrough nine telecasts, ESPN is averaging 3,048,000 viewers, an increase of 19 percent over the comparable 2,568,000 viewers at this time last postseason (eight telecasts). The corresponding household impressions are up 18 percent (2,295,000 vs. 2,040,000) and the rating is up 10 percent (2.3 vs. 2.1). ESPN’s telecast of Game 6 between the Los Angeles Lakers and Oklahoma City Thunder (Friday, April 30) delivered a 3.6 rating, 3,582,000 household impressions and 4,833,000 viewers to become ESPN’s most-viewed first-round playoff game ever. The telecast tied for the highest-rated-first- round game with the Lakers/Houston Rockets (April 23, 2004).ABC’s four broadcasts are up one percent in viewership (4,601,000 vs. 4,536,000) and are even in household impressions (3,463,000 vs. 3,470,000) and rating (3.0).
