Ethier does in Brewers in 9th, 7-5

California natives Jeff Suppan and Ryan Braun couldn’t help the Brewers hang onto the win Sunday afternoon, as Andre Ethier’s 2-run shot off of Carlos Villanueva in the bottom of the 9th was enough to give the Bums the 7-5 win and the series.
The loss drops the Brewers to 71-54 and 5.5 games behind the Cubs in the NL Central.
Suppan gave up 3 runs in the first, before settling down…Suppan finished 6, having allowed 4 runs, all earned, and giving the Crew a 4-1 deficit. But Braun’s 2-run shot in the 8th tied the game up at 5-5 before Ethier came in an spoiled the Crew’s comeback.
Milwaukee returns home, starting with three against the Astros.
