Against some tough competition on ABC with the American Music Awards, Sunday Night Football with what ended up being a good game between big market Philadelphia and Chicago won the primetime ratings on Sunday. It’s becoming obvious that Sunday Night Football is a ratings juggernaut for NBC and one of its few bright spots in its primetime lineup.

Tops American Music Awards on ABC by 22%
NEW YORK – Nov. 23, 2009 – Last night's "NBC Sunday Night Football" was the No. 1 broadcast on Sunday night for the ninth time in 10 weeks with the Eagles 24-20 win over the Bears. "SNF" was again the No. 1 show of the night in the metered markets (excludes overruns of NFL day games) on a night that faced original programming including ABC's American Music Awards, CBS's 60 Minutes and Amazing Race and Fox's Simpsons, Cleveland Show and Family Guy. Head-to-head from 8:30-11 p.m., "Sunday Night Football" out-rated the American Music Awards on ABC by 22 percent.
"Sunday Night Football" registered a 12.1 overnight rating and a 19 share (from 8:30-11:30 p.m. ET). That rating is off 10 percent from last year's Week 11 game, which featured an NFC East rivalry featuring the Cowboys and Redskins (13.5/20).
