Minnesota Vikings defensive players, defensive end Everson Griffen and defensive tackle Fred Evans, have both been having decent seasons. Sunday they both came up big too, with Evans getting possibly the defensive play of the year when he sacked Matt Schaub on third and goal and forced the Texans into a field goal. It was awesome.
For some fans, this activity from two relatively complimentary team players may seem like a surprise, but apparently to anyone who has attended a Vikings practice recently, it probably isn’t. You see, Griffen and Evans both apparently have tons of mojo to dish out on game day, if their break dance moves are any indication.

After a recent practice at Winter Park, many of the Minnesota Vikings players started up a dance circle, because of course. The highlights of this dance circle, as caught by VikingsUpdate.com, was a back-and-forth between Griffen and Evans. Griffen is the one you can see to start off the moves by wearing tight black shorts and pretty much nothing else. I guess I’m not sure what specific defensive package he was practicing for dressed like that, or if he just came running out of the gym dressed like that when he heard there was a dance party going on. Either way, he proceeded to BREAK, IT, DOWN in classic fashion.
But Fred Evans wasn’t having any of that. Evans blew everyone’s mind when he jumped into the dance ring next and did head stand stunts without breaking a sweat. Not that impressed? Think about it this way: A THREE HUNDRED POUND MAN DID A HEAD STAND AND TOSSED HIS LEGS AROUND IN A CONTROLLED MANNER WITH THE GREATEST OF EASE. Let me guess, you’re not impressed because your 300 pound ass demolished 37 beers on Sunday? Good for you.
Either way, it was pretty boss. At the beginning of the video, you do see (I think) Christian Ballard do some dance damage too, but the Fred Evans things is easily the most impressive. I give them all props for not going the cheap route and breaking out Gangnam Style on us, although I wouldn’t have been surprised to see Kluwe try to get in the circle, drop Gangnam, and then get promptly booed. It would seem to be his lot in life.
