Falcons @ Giants Preview: Momentum Swing?

Falcons @ Giants Preview: Momentum Swing? The New York Football Giants came in to week 17 in the NFL ranked 32nd in rushing, and 28th in total defense. Somehow, someway, the Giants have won the NFC East at a record of 9-7. Champions or pretenders? In my opinion, these Giants are rejuvenated, and motivated. After destroying the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Jets in such important games, the Giants are right back where they want to be, hosting a playoff game at MetLife Stadium and awaiting the talented Atlanta Falcons.

Momentum is going to be the key component entering the playoffs for both of these squads. The Falcons are known for their explosive offense with the likes of QB Matt Ryan, WR’s Roddy White, Julio Jones, and RB Michael Turner. Although the Falcons are talented, they are only 1-4 against teams coming into the playoffs. The Giants on the other hand, don’t need to go any further than their pro bowl QB in Eli Manning, who already has a Superbowl under his belt. Mark my words, the Giants will and can do damage in these playoffs.

Prediction: Giants upset the Falcons 30-24 with Victor Cruz and Bradshaw, both an important part of their victory. The Giants are coming in with momentum, and are starting to get things together. They are this year’s Green Bay Packers, so don’t be surprised if they win this game, and end up facing the Saints at some point. Jason Pierre Paul and the Giants defense will barely hold against the Falcons, but this is not their time. The Falcons are good, but not great, and as proven in the past several years with the Giants upsetting the Patriots, and the Packers beating the Steelers, momentum is huge, and the New York Football Giants seem to be going in that direction.
