Fans Confident In Notre Dame’s CFP Chances Can Already Reserve Face Value Tickets

The fourth College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night and both the Oklahoma Sooners and Iowa Hawkeyes leaped the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame was fourth last week but struggled in their three-point win at Fenway Park against Boston College. Iowa is a perfect 11-0 after their win against Purdue, while Oklahoma took the largest leap after defeating TCU without Heisman Trophy candidate Baker Mayfield playing in the second half.

There are still games to be played however, and between the three teams Notre Dame may have the most difficult game remaining. This Saturday, the Fighting Irish travel to Stanford to play the No. 13 ranked Cardinal at Stanford Stadium in a nationally televised game at 7:30 PM ET.

According to secondary market ticket aggregator, Notre Dame tickets have an average price of $192.90 with a get-in price of $104. The average ticket price was near the $300 mark around 10 days ago but has been dropping as the day of the game approaches.

There is one positive for Notre Dame fans with confidence that they will eventually reach the College Football Playoff and possibly the national championship game. Notre Dame’s bid on TeamTix is trending down. TeamTix allows fans to pay a non-refundable deposit for tickets to the national championship game, and the bid is determined by their odds to reach the final stage of the season.

With Notre Dame not being named in the top four, a bid for a 400-level seat in the national championship game is falling from $65 to $40. 100-level corner and end zone seats remain at $115. If Notre Dame were to reach the national championship game, fans will be able to purchase face value tickets.

It’s also a good time to think about putting up a bid, as deposits can be sold in the future if the price were to rise. If Iowa and Oklahoma were to lose this weekend, Notre Dame’s bid would rise (assuming a win against Stanford) and the right to purchase tickets to the national championship game could be sold for the difference between the time the bid was placed and the current bid.

TeamTix bidding is allowed for multiple bowl games as well, as it doesn’t only involve teams in the running for the national championship.
