The St. Louis Blues will be using metal detectors at the doors of the Scottrade Center during the 2015-16 season. The NHL has made this a requirement for all league teams in an effort to improve safety after incidents at other arenas involving a knife and a firearm.
All fans entering Scottrade will be required to pass through the detectors. Unlike the airport, fans won’t have to remove their belt or shoes. However, they will be asked to remove all metallic items from their pockets (including phones) before passing through the detectors.
The Blues announced they hired additional staff to handle the extra security measures.
