Fantasy Forecast: Week 13

Tom Brady

The Colts don’t do anything particularly well on defense, so Brady is a safe bet for 300 yards and 2-3 scores. The only thing that limits his upside this week is the fact that the Colts won’t score much to force the Pats to go to the air. If I were truly desperate for a quarterback this week, I might even consider using Hoyer since he could get mop-up duty.

Wes Welker/Deion Branch

Welker and Branch are both safe starts against a generous Colts secondary. Both players are a threat for 80+ yards and a score.

BenJarvus Green-Ellis/Danny Woodhead/Shane Vereen

BJGE is a virtual lock to find the end zone with close to 100 yards, and Woodhead could put up his best game of the year as well. Vereen has seen plenty of action in recent weeks when the game was no longer in question,so he could be an interesting option as a flex. He could see his most extensive action of the season on Sunday.

Rob Gronkowski/Aaron Hernandez

I wouldn’t bench either of these guys this week. You can pencil Gronk in for his usual 80 yards and a score. Hernandez will create another matchup problem, so he could approach those numbers as well.

Stephen Gostkowski

Might be all extra points this week. 5-6 XPs, 1 FG.

Patriots Defense/Special Teams

New England’s D is an exceptional play this week against a Colts team that is down to its fourth QB. The Colts will have a hard time finding the end zone more than once, and the defensive linemen will be able to pin their ears back and rush the passer after halftime. Expect 13 points allowed, 4 sacks and a turnover or two.
