STAPLES CENTER, LOS ANGELES, CA — This is a continuation of the halftime recap of the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Warriors took a 63-53 lead into the third quarter.

3rd Quarter – Dubs Keep Clips At Bay

The Clippers started out with a nice feed inside from Chris Paul to DeAndre Jordan who scored easily over Harrison Barnes, but Klay Thompson answered with a fade-away inside the lane.

Then Paul Pierce missed a jumper, Brandon Rush got the board, found Barnes in the post, set a screen off-ball for Klay Thompson, and Klay swished the catch-and-shoot from Barnes.

Rush then stole a pass from Luc Mbah a Moute, outlet to Thompson, who lobbed to Barnes for a one-handed alley-oop…

…and Clippers head coach Doc Rivers took a timeout as the Warriors’ lead ballooned to 70-55 with 10:09 remaining.

Los Angeles trimmed the lead after a bad pass from Green led to a J.J. Redick fastbreak layup, JOrdan blocked a scoop from Stephen Curry and Chris Paul converted the run-out.

After Rush got a dunk on an inbound play, Curry’s seventh assist, Paul nailed a triple over Rush and cut the lead to 72-64. With 6:12 remaining, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr called timeout.

In transition, Green got the ball and found Wesley Johnson leaning the wrong way and Draymond converted a layup, but Jamal Crawford attacked Andre Iguodala, scooped up a banker as the whistle blew, and his “and-one” brought the Clippers back to within seven, 74-67, with 5:01 to go.

Both teams threw punches and counter-punches, as well as bad dribbles leading to turnovers, but the Clippers chipped away, led by a Paul steal of a Curry dribble, a Crawford wrap-around layup…

…Jordan got a putback, but Curry banged in a triple from the top to keep the Clippers at bay, 87-79, with 1:15 left.

Paul answered with a three swishing through from the top, but Draymond went past Jordan for a tough layup after surveying the situation and all Warriors options cut off by good defense by the Clippers:

…although Curry missed the second of three free throws.

After Draymond scored on a slip play from a sideout inbound by Andre Iguodala, with Los Angeles shifting towards Curry, the Warriors ended the quarter with a 93-84 lead:

4th Quarter – Warriors Survive Late Scare

Speights rebounded Iguodala’s missed three and then got the hook shot to go. The Clippers’ Green then missed a shot and Harrison Barnes then nailed a three-pointer which forced the Clippers to call a timeout. 10:18 left in the game and the Warriors held a 98-86 lead.

Barnes then lost the ball twice in the post versus Johnson as he knocked the ball away on both occasions. Harrison Barnes then gathered the ball and then hit the face up jump shot to make it 100-86 in the Warriors’ favour.

Redick then hit a right base line jumper against Klay, Jordan finished an alley-oop from a Crawford pass but then Green found Klay for a triple to give him 30 points on the night. The score was 103-90 with 7:21 to go.

Paul got a lay-up to go but then Klay got the step back jump shot to go.

Iguodala passed to a cutting Livingston threw the wrap around pass to a wide open Harrison Barnes who hit the three pointer. The score was 108-92 with 5:47 to go.

Out of the timeout, Curry found Draymond Green inside for the reverse lay-up after receiving a screen from Klay.

With 5 minutes left in the game and the lead 16 in favor of the Warriors, Rivers decided to sit Chris Paul down.

Green missed a lay-up, Pierce missed a 3 and then Steve Kerr called a timeout with 3:43 left in the game. Curry also banked in a three after the whistle…

Livingston and Rush checked in, Redick hit three free throws after being fouled by Green, and then Draymond Green found Curry for the splash which gave him his 10th assist of the night. With that assist, he registered his 11th Triple Double of the season.

Crawford missed a floating shot then Curry missed a three but Andre Iguodala put it back in with authority.

Wilcox hit a three which prompted Kerr to call a 20-second timeout. The score was 115-102 with 1:39 left. Rush, Clark, Looney, Barbosa and J.Thompson checked in but then the Clippers went on a 13-0 run.

Wilcox hit a three then Prigioni hit one to cut the lead to 6 with 23 seconds to go. The Clippers then doubled Clark and eventually he turned the ball over which lead to another Prigioni three. The lead was 115-112 with 5.1 seconds to go.

Kerr called a timeout and the starters checked back in. The Warriors got the ball to Curry who was fouled however the Clippers had a foul to give. Iguodala then turned the ball over and CJ Wilcox missed the desperation three to send the game into overtime.

Final Score: 115-112 Warriors (49-5)
