ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — This is a continuation of the halftime recap of the Philadelphia 76ers at the Golden State Warriors.
The Warriors took a 71-55 lead into halftime.
3rd Quarter – Not Pretty, But Still Up Big
The Warriors started off the third quarter nicely, with a Klay Thompson catch-and-swish from the left arc, a nice drive by Stephen Curry with the lefty scoop and warding off Robert Covington with his off arm, and Draymond Green getting three foul shots after Covington hacked him deep on the right wing.
But Ish Smith hit a triple, Green got in the air for a three-ball and threw the ball away to Smith, with the remaining four Warriors anticipating a shot, and Covington jammed home the fast break with two hands, and Golden State head coach Steve Kerr took a timeout with 7:59 remaining, up 78-64.
Later, Smith fed Elton Brand in the paint for a jumper and the Sixers trimmed the Warriors’ lead to 80-68 approaching six minutes remaining, but Curry got a dribble-and-pop from the right elbow, Harrison Barnes scored at the rim on a cut assisted by Green, and Thompson drilled a triple from the left side after Green grabbed a missed jump hook from Andrew Bogut.
76ers head coach Brett Brown called timeout 4:42 to play, as Golden State took a 86-68.
Brand hit two more buckets before Curry swished a catch-and-shoot from the left wing as Isaiah Canaan bit on the pass, Marreese Speights got an uncontested dunk, blowing by the flat-footed Carl Landry…

…and Leandro Barbosa added a pretty scissoring finger roll as the Warriors took a 96-79 lead into the final frame. Kerr had subbed out Curry before the break.
4th Quarter – Klay Catches Fire
To start the 4th quarter, Speights missed a three then Smith blew past the Warriors’ defense to get the easy lay-up to go. Klay Thompson responded with a three pointer but McConnell answered with a floater.

Clark lost the ball to Covington then Barbosa fouled Canaan who connected on both free throws. Klay then took a contested fadeaway jumper that missed then Barbosa fouled Isaiah Canaan again, this time on a three point attempt. Canaan hit the first two to cut the margin to to 12 and Kerr had seen enough – he called timeout before the third free throw with 10:04 to go.
After Canaan made the free throw, Harrison Barnes drove past Covington on the left side of the court to throw down the one handed dunk.

Landry and Clark missed shots, McConnell lost the ball to Clark before getting it back to find a wide open Canaan who missed the three point attempt. Klay then blocked Landry’s jump shot, Barbosa secured the rebound and then Klay Thompson posted up McConnell and got the post fading jumpshot to go in. The score was 103-88 with 8:21 to go.

Smith and Speights both missed jumpers then Smith finally got the floater to go in. Klay drew a foul on Brand, made both free throws then Stauskas got a tough driving bank shot to drop. Klay then missed a three, Draymond had his shot blocked and Smith once again missed a three.
Klay Thompson then caught fire and hit back to back three pointers to give him 40 points on the night!! The score was 111-94 in the Warriors’ favour with 5:33 to go. Draymond Green registed another triple double after assisting Klay on the first three pointer – his 12th of the season.

Brand got a fadeaway to go in then Clark, Stauskas, Curry and Klay missed consecutive triples. Philly called a timeout with 3:37 to go and the score 111-96.
Covington then got a three to go in just before the shot clock expired and Barnes got the free throw line where he connected on both. He then stole the ball from a bad Covington pass and Green missed a three point attempt. Curry then drew the foul on Brand and hit both free throws after the timeout.
The Warriors led by 16 with two minutes remaining but it didn’t stop there with Draymond finding James Michael McAdoo for the alley-oop.

Smith got another shot to go which gave him 20 points on the night, and then Kerr called a 20 second timeout to get his stars out of the game. Clark missed a three, but the Warriors got the team rebound.
After a official review, the Warriors turned the ball over after the officials ruled Barbosa’s pass wasn’t deflected. Covington got a lay-up to go, McAdoo had his shot blocked by Brand but then Barbosa managed to steal the ball back after doubling down low.
Barbosa missed a shot, Stauskas got a lay-up then the Warriors dribbled out the clock. They advanced to 66-7 behind Klay’s 40 points, Draymond’s triple double, Curry’s 20 points and Mo’s 17 points off of the bench.
FINAL: Warriors (66-7) win 117-105.
