ORACLE ARENA, OAKLAND, CA — This is a continuation of the halftime recap of the Dallas Mavericks at the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors took a 72-58 lead into halftime.

3rd Quarter – Splash Brothers

Draymond Green swished his first catch-and-shoot from the left arc, then got a layup as Andrew Bogut found the middle of the lane wide open and drove in.

But Bogut soon departed as David Lee drew Bogut’s fourth personal foul and, after Brandon Rush came in for him and missed right corner three, Klay Thompson made a nice defensive play on Lee’s drive, slapping the ball downward and out, and Stephen Curry brought up the ball, looked toward Thompson on the right wing, but made a no-look laser to Harrison Barnes, the lead guy on the fastbreak, and his two-hand jam put the Warriors up, 81-66, with 7:55 remaining as Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle called a timeout:

The Warriors’ train kept rolling, however, as Barnes tracked down an offensive rebound then found Thompson ready for the reload from the right arc for a swish, Green blocked Lee, Curry got his seventh assist as Klay hit a catch-and-shoot push-shot from the left baseline in transition, and Draymond slipped the left baseline on a “tic-tac-toe” play with Curry and Thompson:

Curry then earned two trips to the line after pick-pocketing Zaza Pachulia’s offensive rebound and Green made two more free throws before Anderson Varejao and Dwight Powell got entangled and had a mild altercation that was quickly reviewed as a common foul on Varejao while Powell ran towards the offense.

Rush missed a triple, but Leandro Barbosa got the offensive board in the lane and immediately dished to Curry in the right corner for three, but Matthews hit two treys in response and Kerr took a timeout with 2:52 to play and the Warriors up, 95-83.

Out of the timeout, Steph started a fast break and found Shaun Livingston with a lefty behind-the-back assist, Varejao then found his Brazilian buddy Barbosa for a triple swished from the left side with 46 seconds to play, but J.J. Barea answered with a layup, and the Warriors’ lead was 102-89 heading into the final frame.

4th Quarter – Killa Klay

Raymond Felton and Charlie Villaneuva did their best to keep the Mavs in the game with a jumper, a three, and a putback tip-in, but Klay single-handedly answered with three straight triples in immediate response to each…

…and after the third one, Carlisle called timeout and Golden State’s lead was still double-digits, 111-99, with 7:48 left:

Thompson added another drive, but Villaneuva answered yet again with his third three-pointer of the night and Pachulia got a layup in the lane past Andrew Bogut, and Kerr called timeout as the Warriors’ lead dwindled to 114-108 with 5:16 remaining.

The Splash Brothers then need three consecutive triples but Dallas also couldn’t get a bucket to drop until Villaneuva got a floater to go. The lead was only 4 until Steph Curry split two defenders at the three point line and got a soft dunk to go.

Livingston checked in for Bogut. Dray blocked Felton’s shot but he got the offensive rebound and found Matthews who missed the jumper. Klay missed a three, Matthews missed another shot then Curry turned the ball over.

Matthews hit a big three to cut the Warriors’ lead to 4 with 1:21 to go. Klay Thompson however answered with a triple of his own after receiving a pass from Green. This triple gave Klay 40 points!

Draymond Green then found Barnes in the right hand corner for the dagger three pointer. That gave Green 10 assists for the night!

With 40 seconds to go Dallas called timeout. Klay blocked a Matthews three point attempt but then after securing the team rebound, Felton got a lay-up to go. With the Warriors up 8, Dallas had to intentionally foul. Curry headed to the free throw line and he connected on both attempts whilst hearing the MVP chants.

Dallas called another timeout but it was too late. Pachulia got a consolation layup but the Warriors ran out victors for their 65th win of the season.

FINAL: Warriors (65-7) 128-120
