…but then he missed his next two shots.

DeMarcus Cousins got a dunk as there was no help on the left baseline by the Warriors, but then he committed his fourth personal foul.

Kings head coach George Karl, however, left Cousins in.

That would be a mistake.

With 8:57 to go in the third, Stephen Curry drew a touch foul on a drive and referee Mitchell Ervin tagged the call on Cousins.

Cousins went ballistic, pointing at Ervin at a close distance twice in a row, and Ervin ejected Cousins, although Cousins probably knew he would be sitting for a long time anyways on the bench with his fifth personal.

After the dust settled, Curry made three of four free throws and the Warriors regained the lead, 67-66.

The Kings’ hole grew deeper as Draymond Green got an uncontested triple from the top, Curry crossed over at the top past the perimeter of the Kings and got Thompson a catch-and-shoot three from the left wing, and Karl had no choice but to call another timeout, now with the Warriors up, 73-66 with 7:41 to go.

Andre Iguodala, who had come in for Brandon Rush after Rush picked up his fifth personal foul, dished to Andrew Bogut for a dunk, then Green found Thompson for a layup on a fastbreak, and Karl called yet another timeout as Golden State had a 79-66 lead with 5:21 left, a 15-0 run since the start of the second half.

…and with 2:51 to play in the period, Curry assisted Green on another trey, giving Steph his first triple-double of the season.

Klay added another triple, a catch-and-shoot enabled by a Curry screen and a Green assist, and Steph pulled up from the deep left wing with 2.5 seconds remaining in the third frame to give Golden State a commanding 90-75 lead heading into the final stanza:

4th Quarter – Klay Hits More Treys

Ian Clark led the bench unit in the mop-up duties, with seven straight points for the Warriors, but Seth Curry and Omri Casspi, who scored 26 points in the first half, kept things going for the Kings with Seth on the free throw line and Casspi hitting his ninth triple on twelve tries.

Jason Thompson picked up a technical foul with under five minutes remaining, and after Casspi got a reverse layup, Warriors head coach Luke Walton called timeout and Sacramento cut the Golden State lead to 109-97 with 3:37 to play.

But Shaun Livingston came through in the clutch again, getting a layup, then a shot-put jumper in the lane.

Klay added his fifth trey of the night for 29 total points on 10-for-22 shooting, 5-fo-12 downtown, Clark added another for 12 total points, and the Warriors eventually won easily, 122-103.

Casspi led all scorers with 36 points, while Green had 25 points, 8 rebounds, and Curry finished with a triple-double at 23 points, 6-for-13 beyond the arc, 14 rebounds, 10 assists.

The Warriors (29-1) will head to Dallas to face the Mavericks in two nights.
