It might be later in the week, but every roster move counts when it comes to making a final push in the fantasy football playoffs. With several injuries occurring just last week, a hole might need temporarily filled. Here’s a look at a player at each position who is available in the majority of leagues.
Quarterback – Kirk Cousins
So Robert Griffin III right now is a toss up to play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Owners who have enjoyed his production so far this season are devastated, but there is still a chance he does not miss the game. If he does, Cousins is a must to have for a last-second replacement. Anyone with Griffin should pick Cousins up as insurance.
Running Back – David Wilson
Ahmad Bradshaw returned to action last week for the Giants, but his knee injury is obviously still an issue for him. With the Giants not wanting to take any huge chances with him, Wilson should get more shots to carry the ball once again. It is not like he has been slacking either, so he’s a lock to pick up if he is still on the market. The Falcons aren’t exactly a great defensive team against the run either, opening the doors up for a solid game.
Wide Receiver – Danario Alexander
The Chargers might not be going anywhere this season, but they might have found a diamond in the rough in Danario Alexander. He caught seven passed for 88 yards and two touchdowns against a shutdown defense in the Steelers, meaning he has definitely caught notice around the league. Rivers will continue to throw him the ball, mainly because he does not have any other option. He could end up being start-quality for the rest of the NFL season.
Tight End – Martellus Bennett
Since the New York Giants have morphed into one of the most inconsistent teams in the NFL, they are becoming very hard to read. Bennett should have a nice outing against the Falcons, but it is also dependent on Eli Manning. He has caught a touchdown in the last two games, and he has also caught a total of 10 passes. With not many tight ends to choose from, he seems like the best bet.
