The Florida State football program may be having one of the worst off seasons of any team in college football. After going through this song and dance with former quarterback and the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Jameis Winston, the Seminoles cannot seem to find their way off the headlines, as multiple players have had incidents that resulted in those players getting kicked off the team. With some thinking the off-the-field issues would end with Winston’s departure, the complete opposite has happened, putting an unnecessary spotlight on the program.
It is the sixth season that Jimbo Fisher has led the program, but the light may be shining the brightest. With their first ever College Football Playoff loss to Oregon that ended the Seminoles’ 29-game win streak, Fisher cannot wait to get back onto the football field and focus on the stuff that is only involved on the gridiron, rather than being questioned for his disciplinary skills.
With Everett Golson transferring from Notre Dame to compete for the starting quarterback spot with Sean Maguire, FSU has two quality options to go along with the strong skill players they produce year-in and year-out. Florida State has their usual strong ACC schedule to go along with their non-conference schedule that includes South Florida. The highest three average ticket prices for Florida State games this season are below, with information provided by TiqIQ.com.
Most Expensive: 10/24/2015 | Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets vs. Florida State Seminoles | Bobby Dodd Stadium | Average Price: $236.50 | Get-in Price: $81
Georgia Tech was a breakout team in 2014, as their triple-option attack paired well with a stingy defense that almost resulted in an ACC Championship. The Seminoles barely escaped in the ACC Championship game, en route to the College Football Playoff. As a result, the Yellow Jackets will be the Seminoles’ most expensive game this season, as they look to take the next step and earn an ACC crown. The cheapest airfare to Atlanta can be found on Hipmunk.com for Florida State fans that want to attend one of the toughest games on their schedule.
9/18/2015 | Boston College Eagles vs. Florida State Seminoles | Alumni Stadium | Average Price: $232.25 | Get-in Price: $55
Boston College’s defense is always stingy, but the program is still searching for an offense that would transform them into a real contender. Florida State has had plenty of success opposite the Eagles recently, currently riding a five-game win streak. Last year’s contest came down to a game-winning field goal by the Noles, so they’ll hope this game is a little easier this time around. Hipmunk’s Boston hotel guide will help fans find the cheapest options to complete the road trip.
11/7/2015 | Clemson Tigers vs. Florida State Seminoles | Clemson Memorial Stadium | Average Price: $200.08 | Get-in Price: $96
This game between Clemson and Florida State may very well decide who represents the Atlantic Division in the ACC Championship game. Clemson is the preseason favorite to win the division, but the Seminoles have won three consecutive ACC titles, so counting them out before the season may not be a good idea.
