FLORIDA UNEMPLOYMENT: Bucs join Jaguars and Dolphins as state searches for new leadership

It came as no shock even to Raheem Morris himself, who reportedly took the firing today as classy as man like himself could. He thanked the Glazers for their opportunity. In the end though, Opportunity is like potential; a dirty word in the sports industry. It means you suck now, but can be good later.

Bucs leadership reported they have been taking a look at the turning points of the season, and will be addressing them. Translated, they know which players quit on the head coach, the team, and the fans. And those players will be out of a job in March or June. But they also sound like they realize they made mistakes along the way. Big Dog Steve Duemig of WDAE, whom Ive never heard at a Bucs press conference, was the best of all reporters. He drilled Mark Dominik on Bucs not providing leadership, refusing to let Dominik answer generic. Four times Duemig rebuttled his question, and the local media let him, almost with a “you get’em” mentality.

Local media like Raheem Morris; he has been straight forward and honest with them, Dominik has too for the most part it should be mentioned. Now, Dominik survives the Black Monday purge of coaching staff. The Bucs say they will search for “the best coach for the job”. Lets hope he doesnt have an end around in his offensive playbook.

Reports are the Bucs are looking at Jeff Fisher. I’ve got nothing against Fisher anymore, at first I was against the idea, but after thinking about it, he was a good coach. He was a good coach no matter who his OC or DC was too, which is important. Something tells me that the Bucs aren’t going to settle for just anyone, and that no matter what you hear, money will be no object.

So ultimately, Raheem Morris took the fall today, because of a plan the Glazers implimented. I can only imagine what the severance package was for him.

There will be a lot more tomorrow on this..specifically how the Glazers appear to be listening to what the fans want.
