And though a fairly common suspicion of a guy like Coach Dungy is that he seems to be too good to be true (I had that suspicion before I got to know him), I’ve been around him enough to realize that there’s no hidden side. He lives what he believes, and he lives it every day.
Despite what some of his critics believe, he doesn’t preach or lecture. When asked for an opinion on a given subject, he provides it, tactfully but candidly. He doesn’t look for ways to shoehorn his views gratuitously into a conversation.
He also does a lot more listening than talking, and he has a sneaky sense of humor that can spring up out of nowhere, when least expected.
