Floyd Mayweather knocks out Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14 exhibition bout

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams

Coming into RIZIN 14, nobody was taking this Floyd Mayweather v. Tenshin Nasukawa fight seriously. At 41, Mayweather (50-0) was facing a 20-year-old kickboxer in Nasukawa (28-0 kickboxing, 4-0 MMA), the best athlete in Japan today. It was supposed to be an exhibition bout.

After the jokes were made, Floyd and Tenshin actually stood in the middle of the ring, waiting for the fight to begin. What came next was not an exhibition match, but a Mayweather takeover.

After a few shots by Tenshin clipped Floyd, the latter went into attack mode, knocking down Tenshin with vicious shots to the face and body. Two eight-count knockdowns appeared to shock the Japanese faithful and Tenshin. Floyd ended up knocking Tenshin down three times before the latter’s corner threw in the towel with less than a minute left in the first round.

Floyd thanked God, Tenshin and the Japanese crowd for the opportunity. For both fighters, the fight does not count towards their records. Floyd also insisted that he is still retired and has no desire to return to boxing.

Mayweather can officially say he’s faced and beaten a boxer, kickboxer, pro wrestler and an MMA fighter. As for Tenshin, while it doesn’t count, he was devasted after the fight.

Is this the last time we see Floyd Mayweather in any sort of ring? Will there be some sort of rematch down the line?
