The Philadelphia Flyers have made their first trade of the day.
According to Arthur Staple of Long Island Newsday, the Flyers have acquired defenseman Andrew MacDonald from the New York Islanders.

The cost for the 27 year old defenseman is quite steep as the Flyers send a 2014 third round pick, a 2015 second round pick, and undrafted FA centre Matt Mangene to the Islanders for MacDonald.
