There’s nothing more exciting than an overtime win, for both the players and fans, but unfortunately, the Flyers were unable to ride this momentum into their next game, albeit on the road.

After dramatically defeating the Carolina Hurricanes 4-3 in overtime on a goal scored by Danny Briere on Saturday, the Flyers came away with 7 points from 4 games at home. If they were able to continue playing like that, they would easily erase the deficit they had to face after their 0-3-0 start. Disappointingly, however, Philadelphia was unable to do so when they lost in Toronto 5-2 tonight on what was a really, really poor effort. The Flyers were embarrassed, outworked, and outclassed tonight in Toronto. On to bullets:
·         5-2 hurts a lot.

·         James van Riemsdyk, acquired by the Maple Leafs for Luke Schenn, had a really solid game for Toronto, scoring early in the third period against his former team.

·         Ilya Bryzgalov played great on Saturday, but not so great tonight.

·         Brian Boucher, who was recalled from Adirondack after a Michael Leighton injury, replaced Bryz during the game.

·         Matt Read has been a really solid offensive player for the Flyers so far (not in this game, obviously).
