After their losing streak reached three games, the Flyers finally turned things around tonight.
After suffering defeat at the hands of the Bruins 3-0, the Flyers came back and took advantage of a Buffalo team that was not playing at its best and won, 3-2. On to the points of the weekend:
- Boy, two minutes can sure do a lot of damage, huh? The Bruins scored all three of their goals on Saturday in just over two minutes, showing just how bad our defense can be.
- …Which by the way, is annoying, because although the defense can certainly be that bad with their blown coverages and turnovers, the entire team didn’t play awful for the entirety of that game.
- Of that game, it was clear to see that Andrej Meszaros is not yet 100% healthy, and as a result has seemed less aggressive offensively and less effective defensively.
- Winning sure is fun. Isn’t it? It’s a shame we don’t do it more often.
- Ilya Bryzgalov has been a total workhorse this season. He’s played 25 games out of 27 so far, and his play has been a little bit dull as of late, if I were Peter Laviolette, I would certainly play Michael Leighton in one of the next two games vs. the New Jersey Devils.
- The defense played really well tonight, apart from Luke Schenn’s stupid boarding penalty late in the third.
- Max Talbot scored shorthanded, and it was very nice to see SH goals.
- Claude Giroux’s turnover on the Buffalo’s second goal was very ugly, don’t want to see too many of those.
