The Philadelphia Flyers announced in a press release on Friday that they have recalled defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere from AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

Gostisbehere will make his NHL debut on Saturday in the Flyers matchup against the Detroit Red Wings at the Wells Fargo Center.

Gostisbehere, who was part of a report on the Flyers prospects getting off to a hot start, had two assists in three games for the Phantoms. He also had an impressive training camp in his first pro camp this past September before being sent down to Lehigh Valley after three games.

The decision to recall the first-year pro comes in accordance with Friday’s announcement that the team will lose both Braydon Coburn and Andrew MacDonald for about four weeks due to lower-body injuries. Coburn has been absent since the Flyers’ season opener against Boston while MacDonald will miss his first game on Saturday.
