The Philadelphia Flyers have sent arguably their top two prospects to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Wednesday afternoon.
Shayne Gotisbehere, 21 was assigned to the Phantoms on Wednesday after appearing in three games with the Flyers recording two goals and one assist for three points. The defenseman had a coming out party last year in the NCAA Frozen Four, where he went onto win the MVP award of the tournament.
The Flyers also sent down 20-year old forward Scott Laughton, who appeared in four games with the Flyers, where he recorded a goal and two assists for three points. Laughton, last season put up 87 points (40 goals, 47 assists) in 54 games for the Oshawa Generals.
The top prospect left with the big club? Defenseman Sam Morin, who is in his first training camp with the club at the raw age of 19 after being drafted in last year’s NHL Entry Draft. Morin has impressed the Flyers coaching staff with his physical play as well as his mental understanding of the game at a high level.
