The Flyers signed Dale Weise to a four year contract worth 9.4 million dollars. This provides the Flyers with someone with a bit more size as he stands at 6 feet 2 inches. Weise will most likely be Ryan Whites replacement as Hextall stated he tried to re sign White this morning but was unable to get the deal done, so he went out and made this signing. Weise split time playing for Montreal and Chicago last season where he had 14 goals which was a career high for him and also had 27 points. Weise will be valuable as a 3rd/4th liner and gives the team some size. The Flyers now have 9.6 million in cap space and still have yet to resign free agents Brayden Schenn, Nick Cousins and Brandon Manning. Look for the Flyers to make some more small moves in free agency and possibly move a older defenseman like Mark Streit to have a bit more breathing room in cap space.
