Period 1: The game started off with a scare for Flyers’ fans as Bellemare went down limping after an awkward fall but he appeared back on the bench shortly after. Tom Wilson went to the penalty box and soon enough Brayden Schenn sniped the puck right into the net. Schenn’s goal was assisted by Wayne Simmonds and Shayne Gostisbehere. The game continued at a steady pace, Gudas was crushing people, Laughton was winning some key puck battles along the boards and out of the blue, the legend R.J. Umberger was wide open, but Brandon Holtby robbed him with an amazing save. If you don’t know much about R.J. Umberger, today is the day of his last goal, which he scored last year on this date, but somehow he is still in the lineup. Soon after, Ryan White would end up burying one with a nice wrist shot in front of the net. Late in the period, Washington went on the power play and sustained tremendous offensive pressure but the Flyers’ penalty kill was on fire! Umberger would draw a late penalty sending the Flyers to the power play which will get carried over to the next period. 2-0 Flyers lead.

Period 2: With some back and forth play, Washington mostly dominated the Flyers which led to Burakovsky putting one past Neurvirth after the Flyers failed to clear the puck. Very Shortly after, Nicklas Backstrom put one in thanks to a beautiful feed from T.J. Oshie, Karl Alzner also picked up the assist. The Flyers went on another power play, and even though they had great pressure, they couldn’t convert. Shortly after, Voracek put one in off the faceoff after a beautiful feed from Claude Giroux. The Flyers picked up their 4th power play this evening which they didn’t convert, leaving them 1-4 on the night. The Flyers lead at the end of the period 3-2

Period 3: Unlike the other two periods, this period was going back and forth with neither team really dominating over the other. Burakovsky tied the game at 3-3 going top shelf on Neuvirth. The game was chippy and fast paced butt 60 minutes could not decide the game so we head into OT tied 3-3
Overtime: After a nice dangle, Voracek snipes it in the flyers win 4-3
