Here’s video of the punches…
Original Post:
Larry Brooks at the New York Post reports that the Flyers were upset with Sean Avery’s knockout of Matt Carl, his first NHL fight, however it is the Flyers that might end up fined for their actions.
Brooks adds that after Brandon Prust laid a big hit on Kimmo Timonen and was skating down the boards, both Daniel Briere and Scott Hartnell threw punches from the Flyers’ bench that made contact with the Rangers’ winger which is grounds for supplementary discipline.
…i love how Avery is always portrayed as a dirty player but others like Briere, who was suspended earlier this year for a cross check to the head of an Islanders player, aren’t.
…i’ve read reports that Flyer players were upset that Avery continued to throw punches at Carle after he was knocked down. To that I say don’t get punched in the face and fall to the ice.
