The Cardinals have an easy series win if they remember this SIMPLE rule:
Do. Not. Pitch. To. Giancarlo. Stanton.
[mlbvideo id=”193868183″ width=”650″ height=”324″ /]That’s some Mark McGwire circa 1998 power right there, kids.
And just like the ’98 Birds, it’s all about Stanton while the team slogs behind. The Marlins are now 12 games below .500 and sit 8.5 games back in the very average NL East (only the Nats are currently above .500).
Losers in 5 of their previous 6 games, the Marlins are primed for a complete capitulation. And the Cardinals should stockpile as many wins as possible, since their next three series are against the Dodgers, Giants and Cubs.
They can win the next two.
They should win the next two.
Just don’t think about pitching to Stanton. I bet Carlos Martinez barely slept last night, poor guy.
