16 years before Alex Rodriguez reached the 3000-hit milestone with a home run…Wade Boggs did it. And to reward their third baseman, the then-Tampa Bay Devil Rays presented the third baseman with a custom-designed 19-foot bass boat.
Now that boat can be yours…but it’ll cost you.
So…about that boat.
After the historic 3000th hit, Vince Naimoli, Tampa Bay’s owner at the time, presented the “Chicken Man” with a custom-ordered Mercury 200 HP OptiMax powered deluxe Ranger 518 SVX bass boat. It is unused and remains in “sparkling brand new condition”.
Boggs has made the $50,000 boat available for purchase for just a fraction of the value and as an added bonus…the eventual winning bidder will also receive a “Wade Boggs Fishing Experience” where they will be able to spend a few hours fishing with Wade before/after they pick up the boat.
And in case you can’t think of anyone who could use the Boggs’ old boat…I might know just the guy.
