As the story goes, Yogi Berra was once giving his lifelong friend Joe Garagiola directions and he came up with the immortal quote…“when you come to a fork in the road, take it”.
Now, that New Jersey home is for sale.
The three-story residence, which the New York Yankee legend called home since 1974, has more than 4500 square feet of living space, six bedrooms, 3½ baths, sits on almost a half-acre and offers views of the New York City skyline. What’s the price? Get this…$888,000. A nod to the number the Hall of Famer used to wear? Maybe.
Like many homes you’ll find for sale by baseball players (past and present), there’s no real indication of who lived there. This listing, however, is a little different.
In the family room, you can clearly see some Yankee Stadium artwork and one of the few portraits of Berra himself.
And in the bathroom…are those Dale Berra monogrammed towels above the tub? I think so. The onetime shortstop used to call this place home as well.
But, hey, baseball fans, don’t think you can just go tour the former catcher’s crib, this isn’t Graceland…open houses are by appointment only. Instead, just check out this video tour.
