The long awaited return of the Raiders’ big play receiver from last year is here. Jacoby Ford was back at practice today which means he should play next Sunday against the Patriots. Also returning to practice was safety Mike Mitchell who has been injured the entire season.
Ford had returned from a broken hand early in camp in time for the season opener. He then went out with a hamstring injury and was out the past two weeks in recovery. With his return, the receiving corps is almost at full strength. Just Louis Murphy still remains injured.
Mitchell was out with a knee injury and was on crutches for a time during training camp. He was out the entire preseason and season up to this point.
Mitchell was joined at practice by Michael Huff who suffered a minor concussion in Sunday’s game against the Jets. Huff went through a battery of concussion tests and has returned to the practice field.
Also joining the safeties was newly signed practice squad player, safety Ron Parker. He was signed this week, and the team released cornerback Sterling Moore.
Chris Johnson was also not at practice with a hamstring injury. Rookie Demarcus Van Dyke returned to practice after missing last week with a knee injury. He practiced full with a wrap on his knee.
Sitting out today was Matt Shaughnessy who hurt his shoulder in Sunday’s game. He was present but not practicing and should be back soon to play against the Patriots.
Marcel Reece came out of last Sunday’s game early with an ankle injury. He was not at practice today and his status for next week is in doubt.
