The 2011 Badgers football season looked like a disaster waiting to happen on offense, then entered graduate transfer quarterback Russell Wilson. What transpired on the field was the most prolific offense in Wisconsin Badgers history, and off the field it became a love affair between Wilson and Badger nation.
He was exactly what you’d like your quarterback to be — super talented, humble and a leader. Since moving to the NFL he’s become one of the strongest ambassadors for the University of Wisconsin too. There are countless stories of him supporting UW athletics and more importantly giving of himself in all sorts of different ways, ways many won’t ever know.
On Thursday, CBSSports.com reported that Wilson continued to win at life. This time time it was returning some love to the military that protects us from harm on a daily basis. If ever there’s a time to be selfless it’s in service of those who serve us so selflessly everyday.

Along with reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt, the Badgers just so happen to have two of the most positive role models in the NFL these days. Doing the little things without asking for publicity or seeking attention in the process is exactly why those two stand out almost as much off the field as they do on it.
