Seems former Gamecocks running back Cory Boyd is making quite the impression in Toronto as he competes for the starting RB slot for the Toronto Argonaut’s starting roster spot.
Here is a good article on Cory from TheStar.com as it highlights Cory’s journey to get to this most recent chance at a pro football career.
Boyd had a great showing in his first game back after being cut by Tampa Bay then having a rocky Denver career, he had 147 yards rushing in the Argos’ 31-23 loss to the Montreal Alouettes last weekend.
Argo head coach Jim Barker had this to say about Cory’s debut —
“Cory Boyd was everything I was hoping he would be,” Barker said. “He gave us that big back that we needed.”
Glad to see Cory bouncing back and we wish him well in the CFL.
