Branford, CT native Mike Olt had a great season with the UConn Huskies baseball team and ended up being taken by the Texas Rangers with the 49th overall pick in the supplemental round.
After signing with the Rangers, he was assigned to the Spokane Indians of the Northwest League where he ended up being named the fourth best prospect by Baseball America.
In 69 games with Spokane, Olt hit .293 with nine home runs, 43 RBIs and six stolen bases.
