Maybin’s career in the NFL was not a successful one as he was the eleventh overall pick in 2009 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. As stated, Maybin’s career could never get started as a rookie as he did not start any games. Then in the 2010 season, he started one game after that he was released.
In 2011, Aaron Maybin was picked up the Jets and he showed promise playing in 13 games, collecting six sacks, four forced fumbles, and 10 tackles. After that in 2012, he regressed and only played in eight games that season.
For guy that showed a lot of promise while playing at Penn State it just never translated to the NFL. In the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts, Maybin only recorded two tackles. Before playing with the Argonauts in October 2013, he was cut by the Cincinnati Bengals in training camp earlier that year.
