Former San Antonio Spurs player Malik Hairston is expected to switch teams overseas in the EuroLeague. Hairston, who formerly played with Montepaschi Siena, is expected to join the Italian club AJ Milano for two seasons reports solobasket.com.
While playing for Montepaschi, Hairston’s team won the Italian League championship.
Hairston spent time with the Spurs from 2008 to 2010 after being drafted by the Phoenix Suns then traded to San Antonio for Goran Dragic.
He played in 15 games in 2008 and 47 games in 2010. Hairston also spent time with the Austin Toros (2008-2009, 2010). Hairston went on to play in Italy in 2008 after being released by the Spurs in 2010.
Although this former Spur found some success playing overseas, you got to wonder if any current Spurs player would look to play overseas should the lockout eat into the regular season.
