Even with the NBA Draft being over, players are still being signed to teams across the league for the summer league. According to Tony Jones of the Salt Lake Tribune, Khalif Wyatt has been invited to the Jazz’s summer league training camp.
This is good news for the former Temple Owl star who is looking for a permanent home in the NBA. Last year around this time, Wyatt was playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in the Orlando Pro Summer League and then went on to training camp with the team and was then waived on October 25, 2013 in the preseason.
After that, Wyatt would go on to play internationally with Guangdong Southern where he would play in 27 games and average 15.0 points per game. Then on January 31, 2014, Wyatt would leave Guangdong and get picked by the Reno Bighorns in the NBA D-League.
He would not play with Reno as they would trade him to the Springfield Armor. With the Armor, Wyatt played in 20 games and would start in 10 of those. He would go on to average 16.2 points in 28.5 minutes per game.
Hopefully, Wyatt gets a chance to latch on with a young team like the Utah Jazz as he has the talent to make it in the NBA but it first starts all over again in the summer league.
