Last night at Great American Ballpark, former Cincinnati Bearcat Tony Campana made his big league debut for the Chicago Cubs. Tony entered the game as a pinch runner, where he promptly scored a run. In his first at bat an inning later, Campana pulled a double into right field that scored a run. His moment was kind of ruined because the Cubs played like the Cubs in the bottom of the 8th, and the Reds won. Campana was a 13th round pick in 2008. He’s the all time leader in steals for the Bearcat program, with 104. Congratulations to him. Also, a late congrats to Brian Cleary, the UC coach, who picked up win 392 over the weekend. That’s a UC record.
Quick note, Bearcats Blog will be at the Reds game tonight. If you want to meet up and give me a hug that lasts a second and a half too long, or money, or beer, or just all of your earthly possessions, send me a message on twitter and I’ll say hi. It’ll be fun for everyone.
