Former UConn QB Cody Endres Issues Apology Through Local Media

Cody Endres

Former UConn Huskies quarterback Cody Endres issued an apology through the local media on Thursday afternoon in which he apologized for his actions. As you may remember, Endres was kicked off the team after failing a drug test for the third time.

Here’s Endres’ statement:

“I find it very difficult to express my regrets about some of my recent decisions. I would like to start by apologizing to my family, friends, teammates, coaches and UConn fans for my mistakes. I recognize the fact that I have disappointed many people, including myself. I am a 22 year old young man and I know with hard work and faith I can improve myself. I am currently taking steps toward that end. I have spent the past two weeks talking to people I respect and thinking about my future. I remain determined and optimistic that I will continue my education, and I plan on continuing my football career also. I would like to thank my family and close friends who stood behind me during this tough time and I hope for their continued support.”

While as a fan of the team, I can appreciate the fact that he included “us” in the apology, I sure hope he made it in person to the coaches and players at UConn. They are the ones who really deserve it.
