As you likely know, the Pirates don’t have a four-game winning streak this year. You also probably know that they’re on a three-game streak right now after sweeping the Nationals over the weekend. They play the Cardinals tonight, and if I’ve got one fond memory of 2010 (besides, y’know, the Pedro Alvarez walkoff), it’s got to be starting the Cards into their season-ending tailspin last month. Finishing off the club’s first four-game winning streak against them would be a modest moral victory for me as well.
Paul Maholm will try to extend the modest streak against Jake Westbrook tonight. Play like the season’s on the line, fellas. A modicum of my sanity depends on it. First pitch is at 7:05, a Clemente/Cangelosi update is after the jump.
So as you all likely know, the site crashed for about two hours this afternoon. That kept me from really being able to update the standings from when I was gone. I also deleted some of the predictions from the weekend while trying to clean up the massive amount of spam that attacked the site while I was gone. So my question is this: with two weeks left and participation dwindling, do people want to keep doing this? If you do, I’ll get caught up eventually and we’ll press on. But if there’s not a ton of interest left, I just don’t want to knock myself out over it. Drop a line in the comments and let me know.
