Today at noon they announced the lineup for the 2011 All Star Game.
The starting lineup is voted on by the fans and here is the AL Lineup:
David Ortiz: DH
Alex Avila: C
Adrian Gonzalez: 1B
Robinson Cano: 2B
Derek Jeter: SS
Alex Rodriguez: 3B
Jose Bautista: OF
Curtis Granderson: OF
Josh Hamilton: OF
Players also voted on the reserve players and 2 Sox players were selected as well: Josh Beckett and Jacoby Ellsbury.
I’m most happy and excited for Ellsbury. This is his first invitation to the All Star Game and he truly has played like an All Star this year.
In related news, David Ortiz has selected his three teammates for the HR Derby: Adrian Gonzalez, Jose Bautista and Mark Teixeira. Ortiz said Gonzo and Bautista have both accepted and he is still waiting to hear back from Teixeira.
