Fox Sports Announcing Assignments for MLB, 08/09/08

It looks like one of those weeks where Joe Buck is taking off and allowing others to do his work. Fox will have two games to choose from this week and we have details in the Fox Sports press release:

MIDWEST RIVALRY HIGHLIGHTS FOX SATURDAY BASEBALL GAME OF THE WEEK – The dog days of August sees teams looking to strengthen their playoff credentials while some look to hang in the race. The ‘Friendly Confines’ of Wrigley Field adds yet another installment to the 126-year-old Midwest rivalry as the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Chicago Cubs. Looking to improve on their third-place standing in the AL East, the Yankees follow the lead of Captain Derek Jeter as they take on Garrett Anderson and the AL West-leading Angels. FOX SPORTS MAKES CHICAGO NATIVE’S WISHES COME TRUE – On Saturday, August 9, FOX Sports’ charitable initiative FOX Sports Supports teams up with the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant a deserving child their ultimate wish at Wrigley Field. During the Cardinals at Cubs game on FOX, Chicago native Marco Scola, 17, who wished to be a sportscaster for a day and interview a Cub, will become part of the FOX Sports crew. In addition to throwing out the first pitch, Marco will interview players and come up to the booth to join play-by-play announcer Dick Stockton and baseball analyst Eric Karros.

This year the network established FOX Sports Supports, an on-air charitable initiative devoted to raising awareness, providing financial assistance and spurring volunteerism for select health related charities. The organizations selected for FOX Sports Supports’ first year have been assigned to one of FOX Sports’ primary broadcast properties. Make-A-Wish Foundation is the official charity of MLB on FOX this season.
