Foye goes through contact drills

At Wolves practice on Tuesday, Randy Foye continued to progress in his
rehabilitation, going through contact drills with teammates for the
first time…

Also from Trudell:
Foye emphasized that he "did everything" that the rest of the team did,
including five-on-five half-court drills with full contact. In one
drill, he played with Al Jefferson on the black team (Minnesota’s
practice jerseys interchange between white and black) and in another,
played as Steve Nash for the white time. He made a lot of short jumpers
and layups, and went through sprinting drills afterwards.

In what’s become a weekly update, Wolves guard Randy
Foye took another step on his road to recovery from a knee injury
that’s sidelined him all season. Foye returned to practice two weeks
ago but only in individual workouts. Today was the first time the
Wolves former 1st-round draft pick actually began contact drills and
full workouts with the team.

"Didn’t do but 10 minutes, 15 minutes of
contact," said Wittman. "But so far, everything has been good. We’ll
see tomorrow how he reacts to that. That’s where we are. The game plan
right now. He comes in tomorrow and everything is fine then you
increase the contact each day."

He was limited to a brief period of contact drills, so there’s still more work to be done before he plays in games again. But it was a positive sign for the second-year player. There’s no official timetable for his return, but he could be back next month.
