Freddy Galvis suffers broken left collarbone out 6-8 weeks

<![CDATA[For Philadelphia Phillies infielder Freddy Galvis, his season just went from bad to worse. If you remember, Galvis missed the early part of the season as he was diagnosed with a MRSA infection. He eventually came back but has not been producing at the plate.

In 16 games this season, Galvis is batting .048 with 1 RBI and 12 strikeouts. With those kinds of numbers, Galvis was sent down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. At Lehigh Valley, his numbers weren’t any better as he was batting .143 with 1 RBI but that’s only through two games.

Galvis will be out for a few weeks as according to Jim Salisbury of CSN Philly, he suffered a broken left collarbone during Sunday’s game.

This is not the news that Galvis wanted to hear as he won’t be back until late June-early July.
