Just as 2011 arrives, a bit of 2010 was left as a reminder at the doorstep; LeGarrette Blount was named NFC Offensive Rookie of the month, while Josh Freeman was named the NFL FedEx Air player of the week for their contributions during those periods. Freeman became the first back to back winner of the award this year, and joins Aaron Rodgers and Michael Vick as the only two time winners in 2010. Freeman was 21 of 26 for 255 yards, 2TDs 0 INTs. In the final 5 games of the year, he threw for 1190 yards and 10 touchdowns! That gives him the third best passer rating of 110.6. More important is the Buccaneer streak Josh completed, becoming the first Bucs QB to start every game during the season since Brad Johnson did it in 2003. Josh also now has 13 consecutive games with a TD pass. LeGarrette Blount may be even stronger under consideration for rookie of the year with this award; NFC Offensive Rookie of the MONTH! During the seasons final 5 weeks, Blount amassed 511 yards on 87 carries, for an amazing 5.8 yards per carry. Perhaps even more amazing, he had 14 carries during that time frame of 10 or more than 10 yards.
