Penn State is coming off one of its best recruiting classes in recent memory, and some of those guys are ready to make an impact.
Wide receivers Brandon Polk and Juwan Johnson will not be redshirted and will add to an already very deep unit. Polk was one of the fastest players in his recruiting class, while Johnson is a big target at 6’4 213. The two will likely only see playing time in blowouts, but if injuries arise, they can be key contributors.
Running back Saquon Barkley is in the competition for the #2 running back spot behind Akeel Lynch. Barkley has already shown plenty on maturity and seems to be in good position to get the back up spot.
Cornerback John Reid will also not be redshirted and will compete for a depth spot in a crowed secondary. He could end up seeing playing time if there are injuries or if some starters don’t get the job done.
With one week till kickoff, stay tuned for more news on the Nittany Lions.
